God is with you and will help you. Will you let him? You have to want to be helped.
|
The temptation of our false idols can feel like a powerful vortex of wind sucking us in. It can feel hopeless, as if there is no way we can resist its pull. And that certainly is the message Satan whispers: Go ahead, you know you want it. You know you can’t resist.
|
Be aware in that moment: God is there, too! He is fighting for you; you are not alone. The secret to winning the battle against temptation is to admit your weakness and utter dependency on the Lord and then to ask him to help you.
|
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
|
Pride got us into the mess, humility will get us out. As long as we falsely believe we can handle the problem on our own, we are beyond help. God can’t do anything until we are surrendered to him. Call upon him in your moment of trouble: God, save me! Do for me what I cannot do for myself. Show me the way of escape. He will.
|

He can turn the vortex of wind around in a heartbeat and blow you right out of there. His power and resources are infinite. Let him help you. (Healing Words, Day 68)
