Possibly. Most classes are either exclusively men or women. However, offering a class for married couples works very well. And other men and women can also be added to a couple’s class. As a caution, it can feel unsafe to some people to be in a class of mixed genders. Under no circumstances are men and women ever in the same small group.

If possible, take the class before starting the ministry, bringing others with you who might help you begin your future class. If there is no class in your area, pray and ask God to send you 4-6 people and begin a single group. This is called a “Get-each-other-through-it” group. Watch the videos and complete the Journey Steps. The Leader Guide contains the weekly questions to guide your group processing. After completing the 29 weeks, make plans to attend Boot Camp. Now you are ready to launch a regular class.  If you are interested in starting the Healing Journey in your area, purchasing the Healing Journey Curriculum Kit is the place to begin. The kit’s thirteen components will give you everything you need to start a class. Once you receive your kit, read the Class Facilitator Manual first. It will tell you everything you need to know about leading, training, publicity, and registration, including the timeline and forms.

Once you’ve taken Healing Journey and attended Boot Camp, it takes approximately three-six months’ lead time, depending on space availability at your church or facility.
